Keren Or - Jewish High School

About Us

Keren Or, meaning "ray of light," was founded in the Fall of 2006 by two families with children who have unique differences and educational requirements, but who all had a strong desire to attend a Jewish high school.

There are several programs available in Atlanta for elementary and middle school students. Until the Keren Or Jewish High School opened its door in September 2006, a high school education in a Jewish day school environment was not an option for Atlanta teens that learn differently.

Located within The Weber School of Atlanta, this "school within a school" provides a more focused, modified curriculum for students with learning disabilities. The school focuses on the learning style of each student while providing access to a wide range of social and Judaic peer experiences.

Keren Or was born:
  • From the desire of families and their teens to attend school with their Jewish peers.
  • So these Jewish high school students could have the same opportunity as other Atlanta Jewish teens, to spend their critical high school years in an environment fostering a sense of Jewish responsibility and continuity.
  • So these Jewish high school students could receive the individualized education programs they need, in a community environment, in a structure based on Jewish values.
